Short version
We collect what we need to reply to you, and nothing else. No advertising trackers. No selling anything to anyone. Ever.
This matters more here than on most websites. Registration of Roma and Sinti families is not an abstract subject for this organisation.
What we collect, and why
- Contact form
- Your name, email address, chosen subject and message, so that we can reply.Kept: Until the matter is closed, then up to two years in case you write again about the same thing.
- Newsletter
- Your email address only. Confirmed by a link we send you, so nobody can be signed up by someone else.Kept: Until you unsubscribe, which is one click in every email.
- Deposited material
- Whatever you tell us about the papers or objects you give us, including who they belonged to. This is archival material and is governed by the written consent you sign.Kept: Indefinitely, as an archive record — but your consent can be withdrawn at any point and the record comes off the public catalogue.
- Wall of Remembrance
- Any dedication you leave, and the name it is attached to. Dedications are read by a person before they appear.Kept: Indefinitely, unless you ask us to remove it.
The rest
Cookies, analytics and your rights
Cookies. The site sets one cookie, and only when you choose a language, so that your choice survives to the next page. It carries no identifier and is not shared. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Analytics. There is no third-party analytics on this site, no advertising pixel and no social-media embed. Fonts are served from Google Fonts and are cached by the browser; no other external service is contacted while you read.
Who sees your message. Contact messages are read by the small number of volunteers who handle enquiries. They are not forwarded outside the Centre and donor details are never shared with anyone.
Your rights. Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will act within a month, usually much sooner. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. School bookings go through a member of staff.
