More than two decades of defending Roma rights
The founders of the organisation have been involved in the Roma rights movement since 2000.
Throughout this time, they have been involved in monitoring and documenting situations in which the rights of Roma individuals and communities have been violated, as well as in advocacy and human rights work.
Our monitoring has included issues such as:
- school segregation;
- discrimination in education;
- discrimination in hospitals and healthcare;
- violence and alleged abuses involving the police and gendarmerie;
- forced and unlawful evictions;
- housing inequalities;
- living conditions within Roma communities;
- environmental racism;
- institutional discrimination;
- social and economic exclusion;
- unequal access to public services.
Our work involves identifying concerns, listening to people affected, gathering and documenting information, engaging with relevant organisations and institutions, and advocating for meaningful action and change.
This experience has helped shape an approach that connects human rights, education, historical memory and the fight against racism.
