An appeal: papers, photographs, anything at all

Very little documentation of Roma and Sinti persecution survives in public collections in this country, and what does survive is scattered. The families who came to the North East brought papers with them, and those papers are in lofts and drawers.

If you hold anything — a registration card, a compensation letter, a photograph with a name written on the back, a passport with the wrong stamp in it — we would like to hear from you. We can digitise material and give it straight back. Nothing is published without your written consent, and consent can be withdrawn.

You do not need to know what you have. Part of our job is working that out.
